LeAnn Elder has led Score Academy Boca Raton since 2011, integrating her background in architecture, design thinking, and education to cultivate a dynamic learning environment that values creativity, critical thinking, and individual growth.

LeAnn Elder has served as the Head of School at Score Academy in Boca Raton since 2011. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, she has called South Florida home since 2000. A licensed architect, LeAnn earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Virginia and her Master of Architecture from Harvard University. At both universities, she received teaching assistantships that sparked her lifelong passion for education.
At UVA, she was selected as a teaching assistant for both an introductory architecture course and a second-year design studio. At Harvard, she was invited by a professor to assist a design studio focused on an outreach center and to teach an architecture program for middle school girls. That experience inspired her to design and teach a summer architecture program at Harvard aimed at introducing minority high school students to the field of architecture.
After several years in professional architectural practice, LeAnn shifted her focus to raising her family — but her passion for teaching drewher back to the classroom. She taught as an adjunct professor at Florida Atlantic University before joining Score At The Top and Score Academy in Boca Raton as Center Director and Head of School. Following four years of tremendous growth across both the learning center and the private school, she began dedicating her leadership exclusively to Score Academy.
LeAnn continues to bring her creativity, design thinking, and commitment to individualized education to her work with students and faculty each day. Both of her sons are proud Score Academy graduates who went on to attend their top-choice universities, a testament to the school’s strong academic and personal development philosophy.
